So i was sick and ran anyway. That wasnt the problem. The problem was that i was sick for two days before i ran and probably didnt eat right and didnt run at all during sickness. Another problem was that i took last week, my first real week of hard training really hard then was sick and couldnt run so acids could have built up while i wasnt eating enough at the same time. So what is he talking about, problems about what, did he have a bad race? No i was pulled out of my race and now youll find out why. During the warmup, after jogging about a mile and a half, my calves hurt really bad, so i had to stop and stretch. Later i caught up with the rest of the team, and stretched as they finished jogging the course. I stretched and did strides and whatnot, then the race started soon after i was doing really well the first mile, no one passed me and i was strong, very strong, i felt great. At around the mile mark, my calves started to freeze up again and i kept pushing out the same pace. After about 200 i slowed down dramatically and was passed by all sorts of ppl, then soon afterward i couldnt even run straight. I was running sideways in a sort of hobble stride for about 600 where i would go back into normal stride, then hobble sideways again until coach Lee finally came to me with coach Walsh and pulled me out, i was so thankful. I had been hurting really bad, then at that point when i stopped running, i started to walk and the pain sank in. I almost started crying. I am no stranger to pain, as you can tell from the scars all over my body as well as the ones on my face. This pain was worse. My legs were iron blocks that i could not move and i just did what coach Lee told me, to look at him and not sit down, as well as not bend over. He told me not to walk. I couldnt walk. After five minutes excrutiating pain, i sat down under a tree. It wasnt so much sitting as falling over and using my hands to stop, then rolling. My upper body and quads felt great, but my calves felt like hell. In a few more minutes, the pain had slightly subsided and i walked to the finish area, the race already over. Craig got me ice and i sat down with ice packs on my legs. Fifteen minutes later i got up and felt like nothing had happened, so i walked aroung. The team did good though, they won! hooray! Im going to try my best not to let this happen again.
